Bolognese Sauce “spaghetti Bolognese” Recipe

Authentic Bolognese sauce is a slow-cooked sauce used for seasoning of flat long pasta type. Or the penne rigate is perfect for younger children. Though the Italians do not eat ragù with spaghetti, spaghetti alla Bolognese has become a popular dish in many other parts of the world. Ingredients for about 2 liters of Bolognese sauce:

600gr. of minced meat *

*(50% beef 50% pork) or as you like

can be only beef 🥩 or only pork 🐽 )

100gr of butter

50 gr of olive oil

Salt

3 🥕 carrots

One big celery stalk

One onion

Two glasses of white wine 🍷

Two jars of tomato sauce or three cans 🥫 of peeled tomatoes

Three basil leaves

Two small spoons of sugar

 

Directions:

  • Add minced meat, butter, olive oil, and cook till it becomes ready in a big pot—season to taste with salt.

 

  • Then grate the celery, the onion, and the carrots.

 

 

  • And add them to the minced meat.

 

  • Stir and mix well all the ingredients. Leave to cook for a while, and then add the white wine.

 

  • After a while, add the tomato sauce, basil leaves, and two small spoons of sugar.

 

  • Stir in the tomato purée or peeled tomatoes, partially cover the pan with a lid, let it simmer for about 3 hours, and occasionally stir until the oil comes up. (In case you are cooking only a liter of sauce, you need to simmer for about an hour and a half).

 

  • If it looks like this, your delicious Bolognese sauce is ready.

  1. I made this sauce today. Have never made a bolenese sauce before. This was amazing! I will use this recipe from now on when I want a red sauce.
