They are On the menus at all restaurants all over the world! Gnocchi Sorrento style is a typical traditional dish from the Campania region. They come from Sorrento, where they also bear their name. Gnocchi Sorrento style has many ancient roots. A rich, but delicious dish that, at the same time, has a cherished content. Sorrento’s gnocchi was invented with very ordinary ingredients in the 1600s in old meth, located in Tasso Square. Ingredients for five servings:
500 ml Tomato Sauce
500g Gnocchi (homemade or from the grocery)
250 g Mozzarella
70g Grated Parmesan Cheese

If you choose mozzarella for your Gnocchi Sorrento style, it must be well squeezed before using it for the dish; otherwise, the gnocchi will become more liquid. You can remove the mozzarella from the water a day or two before using it.

Then boil the gnocchi in salted water. Your gnocchi is ready to be drained as soon as all get to the surface.

Then In a baking pan or casserole – or better in a glen pan, put the gnocchi and some of the tomato sauce, and mix all gently.

Then add the rest of the tomato sauce. Finally, add some mozzarella cut into small pieces, and mix all again.

At last, Sprinkle with the grated Parmesan and add the rest of the mozzarella and the basil leaves chopped into small pieces.
