Mini Caprese Skewers Drizzled with Balsamic Glaze Recipe

It is the classic Caprese saladр but on a skewer. Healthy, delicious, and simple to prepare. The Mini Caprese Skewers are the perfect party appetizer, made with cherry tomatoes, mini mozzarella balls, fresh basil leaves, and balsamic glaze.

The quantity I had chosen is three skewers per guest.

Ingredients:

Mini Mozzarella balls

Cherry tomatoes

The fresh basil leaves

Balsamic Glaze

Bamboo Skewers or Toothpicks

 

Directions:

  • First, drain the water from the mozzarella balls and pat them dry.

  • Then wash and dry the cherry tomatoes too. Next, take a skewer, spear the top of the tomato, and sвide it up.

  • Then take a small basil leaf*, pike, and slide it up by the tomato.

  • After that, spear the mozzarella ball and slide it up to the rest.

  • Drizzle with the balsamic glaze** just before serving.

*If your basil leaf is a big one, just cut it in two, or if you prefer a more intense basil flavor to your Caprese skewers, then fold the leaf in half.

** If you cannot find Balsamic glaze at your grocery store, here is how you can make it yourself. In a small saucepan, cook one cup of balsamic vinegar. The time it takes to reduce depends on the quality you are using. If you want to add sweetness to your glaze, add some brown sugar or honey. It will help to cook fastеr too. Then, as it cools is ready to be used.
