Or how to make the most of your day at Ocean Cay Marine Reserve MSC private island
Ocean Cay is a beautiful and peaceful place to relax and unwind with crystal-clear waters, picturesque beaches with heavenly white sand, beautiful palm trees, and a lighthouse. Ocean Cay MSC Private Island is located halfway between the Florida coast and the Bahamas. The island is a former sand quarry transformed by MSC into a marine reserve with a man-made lagoon and beaches. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and various activities to choose from.
Here’s some helpful information to help you get the most out of your visit to the island:
Go to the beach-
The island has seven beaches where you can spend the day. Those in the lagoon (South beach) have soft white sand, very calm water, free sunbeds, and umbrellas at an extra charge. Located close to the central food court, a bar, a food truck with free food, and a beach shack seafood at an additional cost.

If you’re a wave enthusiast, there are a few oceanfront beaches with beautiful white sand and picturesque stone scenery, a lovely spot for your best Instagram shoot.

My favorite is Lighthouse Bay, with stunning views of ships and the Lighthouse. There are brightly colored umbrellas, chairs, and loungers, all free of charge. In addition, there are many palm trees to provide additional shade, a complimentary food truck, a bar where you can use your beverage package or cruise card, a washroom with fresh water showers, and locker rooms. Be sure to bring a beach towel with you from the ship.

Beverage packages and WIFI–
Essentially, the island is an extension of the ship, and what’s covered by the package is what’s covered by the package on the ship. So, as with the WIFI package, you can use it on the island by logging in to the router on Ocean Cay.
Book an excursion-
Make the most of your day. There are a variety of water sports to choose from, from snorkeling to stand-up paddle board kayaking, water jet skiing, romantic champagne sunset cruises, and much more.
Go Walking-
Love to walk? Just pick a trail and do some exploring. The island is beautiful, and there are a couple of deserted beaches with tropical scenery that make for the perfect spot for an Instagram shot. There are many species of birds to be seen, some of which have made the island their home and some of which are seasonal migrants.

Take the tram-
There is free transportation all over the island, with stops at every beach and all major stops.

The Spa on Ocean Cay-
Indulge in the ultimate pampering experience at the spa while enjoying a super-soothing beachside massage with an eco-friendly product. Remember to book your appointment onboard.
Wedding Pavilion-
Say “I do” or “I still do” with a wedding or vow renewal ceremony in one of the most romantic places on Earth. This is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Shopping on the island-
Take a piece of this magnificent place back home. There’s a wide selection of souvenirs and gifts inspired by nature. Items for adults and children include T-shirts, hats, beach items, towels, and accessories. No cash is required to shop; everything goes to your cruise card.

Visit the Lighthouse-
The island’s focal point is a 100-foot red and white Lighthouse. It is also a helpful point of orientation and the first thing you will see when the ship arrives and the last thing you will know when the ship departs.

If you book a tour, you can climb up to the Lighthouse and take your best pictures of the island and the ship from the top.

Beneath the structure is a Hemingway-style bar and terrace with comfortable sofas. This is the perfect place to enjoy the view with a refreshing cocktail and lunch (at an extra charge).

The Sunsets at Ocean Cay are spectacular-
Enjoy the sunset and after-sunset disco on the beach. Each one is unique in its colors and shades of light. Perfect for your Instagram Story. The Lighthouse Bay Disco starts right after sunset, followed by the Lighthouse Show. The 23,000 LED lights that cover the structure put on a choreographed show you will never forget.

Take the kids to the island-
The Kids Club offers activities for kids and families on South Beach. With games such as the Island Family, Adventure, the Doremix Family Disco, Lost in Ocean Cay game, the Treasure Hunt, and Team Challenges. The lagoon’s calm waters are a favorite place for young children to play. And the beach at Lighthouse Bay is my son’s favorite place to snorkel and watch the colorful fish around the rocks.
